Business is personal. Don't let anyone tell you differently. The idea that it is not is just a "believeable fiction" we tell ourselves to ease those nagging guilts we feel when we screw others over.

God may not play dice with the Universe, but we're not Gods so we have to keep rolling the dice until we get it right.

To jump without a net is the scariest thing imaginable and it's the essence of courage. To weave a net first the essence of intelligence. The Definition of Insanity is to jump believing you can weave the net midair.

Go ahead and tell yourself it's okay to stop trying. You know it's not true. Just like you know it's not really true that the sun will always come up in the East or that "life goes on." One day it won't come up and one day it won't go on. But just because it's so likely tomorrow and the day after that and so on, you believe it on faith alone that tomorrow will be the same.

Most accept failure on faith alone and do things like watch Jerry Springer so they can laugh at the even dumber. That's definitely better than looking in the mirror. After all, mirrors don't have remotes and you can't change the channel when you tire of the sad sad image of all that wasted potential.

How could I recognize, even at the last possible moment, that there was something left to fight for and then walk away when my highest ideal is to fight for the people I love? Especially when I finally felt I could match conviction with courage, intent with action?

If I from yesterday could make the same choices based on today's vantage point, I would take my actions back in a millionth of a millisecond. But I can't.

I am sorry if my own humanity and and pain and struggles to do the right thing are proof to you of something wrong or weak in me.

Can hope change the world? The only answer for me is to accept hope on faith and go backwards from there. The very act of hoping, insofar as it is in and of itself a hopeful act and changes the self, already proves that it can.
